Untangling Jewellery Chains

Wondered how many fellow CTers have been handed a pile of jewellery which originally consisted of something shiny with a very fine shiny chain complete with a hook/clasp thing that is required to be worn very shortly....

I have tried a number of methods but still feel that there must be a simple way to sort out this situation.

How do you unravel or untangle the chain in this sort of situation?

Don't forget, once you have untangled them, to hang them on a hook (which should keep them from getting tangled) and make sure that OH handles one at a time, when sorting out which one she wants to wear next.

When untangling, WD40 helps with slippage, but she might not appreciate the perfume.
