TV licences

We have done a DD not sure how much it will be per month as this year it is a bit diferent 

we did it some weeks ago but have yet to recieve any more info,from TV licence ,i would think many have done the same   and they as per most cumpanies not got the staff and are overwhelmed,,

ps just as was envisaged , when we were "advised " to do it this way , as it is also at no add costs to us

Years ago you could only pay the complete amount or pay quarterly which we do. Monthly would probably be more convenient but I have just left it as it is.

Without Diving into my files K, I seem to recall that my DD will be for about £ 14.50 per month until the whole  £150 etc is paid, then it will pause until next years money grabbing

You should receive a letter from the BBC with three forms in it. One to set up an annual DD, one to set up option of a monthly DD, and one to send back with proof of Pension Credit, which is what is required to keep getting a free license. You only send one of the three options back, then they send you a license. You get a free postage envelope as well to return the form.

Be very very wary, there are a lot of scams out there around the over 75 license. I had to ring BBC to check something, and have to say who ever is dealing with it was very good, quick and polite.

Thanks all, I finally figured it out.

There is a special  75+ Plan, for this first year anyway, if you want monthly , fortnightly or weekly DD, you have to fill in the form.  On line you only get the regular plan.

So, having sent off the form B, for monthly DD, depending on when they deal with my application, the cost will be spread  equally over the remaining months to next July, so will be at least £17.50 per month.

Whether the 75+ plan will continue next year is  not clear from the info they have sent out.

The one thing I do not understand is why the Beeb want money off me when I pay a subscription to Sky for my TV viewing?

I would have thought that Sky would have contracted with BBC to air their programmes and any payment due being made.

If this is so why do I have to pay again (assuming I want to watch BBC 1 or 2 via sky)?

As I understand it, what you are paying for is the right to use receiving equipment to access live TV, utilising an aerial, sat dish or computer / tablet / phone, irrespective of who generates it.  You also need one to use the iplayer. I believe a few things like Netflix escape. Although use an App to watch Sky sport and you need a licence.
