Tut tut !! What's the problem with wild daffodils

We have daffodils in large groups in the grassed areas in our road,and today when walking home from town at "schools out" time,  two parents  were on their "phones" as their children walked into the middle of one large patch and started pulling the blooms off, when i shouted at them the "mothers" just called the "brats" and then went back to their phones,so a "quiet word" these days?  

Yes, of course the police should tell people off for being vandals.

Only wish it would happen more often.

Well done the policeman, why didn't the parent stop them, picking wild flowers is not acceptable.

Strange how we all have different views on something , yes the daffs on grass verges all around the country look beautiful   Yes ! Vandalism of any property anywhere is appalling, but two under 7 yr olds with there dad in a respectable village,

To me I personably believe  she should have handled the situation a lot better , if she was looking to have her name in print she got it.  If she was looking for another stripe I hope she doesn't ,

Police  have had a lot of stick lately , stopping children aged 3 on three wheeler cycles on pavements and actually giving the parents an official warning and now this it's no wonder ! Surely there's enough real criminals they could spend there time dealing with ....or would that be to hard and risky 

I think that situation could have been handled better. Sadly jobsworth.

JVB66 you were lucky not to have got a mouthful from the mothers. Sad reflection of society today. Used to be said it takes a village to raise a child, your example gives credence to that in the second instance but in the first alienates folks against the police.

Since daffodils are in such abundance this year, perhaps the best solution would have been to explain to the child that they could only CAREFULLY pick 3 or 4 stems, and then explain how to look after them when they got home. Just possible they would become future gardeners.

We have lots of Daffodil's along side our roads, huge swathes of them, often seen dogs running through flattening them, while owners walk along on their phones or just not taking any notice, should the police have a word with them? kids have picked flowers for as long as i can remember, if they are picked properly and only a few at a time I have no problem with that, its the little bu@@ers that run through them pulling the heads of that riles me.
