Trail of destruction, for what?

On returning home yesterday from a two week break, I was given some very bad news concerning a long time friend of mine.

Sometime between 04:00am and 04:30am Sat 10th Sep he awoke to find that his caravan was ablaze. He and his wife evacuated their house and called the fire brigade who were already attending a caravan fire in another nearby road.

Apparently some mindless low life had set fire to one caravan kept on an elderly ladies drive and then moved on to torch my friends caravan before next targeting a Berlingo belonging to an elderly disabled gentleman.

The charred chassis is now all that remains of his caravan and the flames also engulfed his wife’s nearby car. Other heat damage caused to his house included melted windows, facia and guttering, cracked windows and burned down perimeter fencing. He lives on a corner plot with a large garden otherwise who knows what could have happened.

What these scum do not know or care about is that my friend is only just recovering from cancer treatment and his wife is already being treated for depression.

The OH and I visited them today to offer some support and I am pleased to say they have had many offers of help and one lady who does not even know them called with a bunch of flowers for his wife.

I am lost for words to describe whoever did this mindless act and caused so much heartache and distress to such a lovely couple.Yell

They may well have mental health issues,  but what triggered those episodes? A long history of drug abuse and their brains giving up on what is acceptable behaviour?
