Thanks, I know what you mean. Although I  believe at least 1 of the residents moved to nursing care. Was hoping to be home before Mum moved but my sister just wants to get her settled as soon as she can, not sure how Mum will cope with the move, although she did go for a visit  and seemed to like it.

Good luck to your mum Tammy. Difficult times but at least you have your sister on hand. We had to dash back from France a few years ago when MIL was informed that FIL HAD to go into a home within the week, giving notice that included a bank holiday as well. We were very lucky in finding a great place that looked after him.

Your post about Montlouis brought back memories, unfortunately not great ones as Mrs.WN had a bad bout of food poisoning whilst staying at that site many years ago. Not their fault as food bought from Saumur but she still won't go back to the site!

A gorgeous day spent walking from Walberswick on the Suffolk coast to Dunwich further south. The museum at Dunwich is worth a visit if you are in the area detailing how important this place once was before nature took it back.

I remember time team doing a dig around there.  At one time East Anglia was the most populated region in the country, hard to believe now.  After several pints of Broadside you can hear the bells tolling just offshorelaughingwink

I see we are back to the way we were, with regards to viewing the set up of this discussion area.

That was a pointless exercise.

Interesting visit to Beningbrough today, weather mostly good.

Stopped off  on the way back to fill fuel for our move tomorow......5ppl cheaper here than in St Neots.

Next stop is 4 nights at Meathop befoe we return home.

A nearly pointless day. Went to Picton Castle with the intention of taking one of the house tours, in particular to see the Rembrandt that was featured on the Fake or Fortune programme a couple of weeks ago. However it turned out that there were no house tours today due to a special event going on. yell We did manage a walk round the gardens which are quite extensive so at least we did get some exercise, so not totally pointless.

Definitely need a new avatar k. You look far less serious (and not as tall wink) in the flesh so to speak. I'm shorter in real life too so we can see eye to eye smile

Lovely day today.  Youngest son has been over in London on business this week and decided to extend his visit so he could come home for the weekend.  We have had a really great family reunion with an Indian take away at ours this evening.  He flies back to N. Ireland tomorrow.

I have always fancied going to Dunwich Wherenext.  It sounds a fascinating place.

How lovely that KjNN and EasyT met up on site.

Catching up on here, good to hear of a meeting between CTers. smile

Have been to Dunwich years ago when we rented a holiday cottage for a family holiday nearby, we had two weeks of Suffolk sunshine, lovely!

Hope Tammyg enjoys the journey home and your Mum settles in ok. I'm at home at the moment so that someone is around for my Mum whilst my sister takes a few breaks. She's off to Spain next, hoping things don't get too unsettled there, at least she's further south for this trip. We take it in turns to go away when we can, I'll have to wait till November.

Nice to have your son around Millie. I saw our son in the week, then he borrowed my camera and I'm missing it already....must claim it back asap.

I sat in front of a nice warm log fire last night, it's that time of the year I think, time for some cosy evenings. But tonight we're going to a brass band concert so that will liven us up. wink

Have a good day, it's a bit soggy and wet in Somerset just now.
