Did any of you watch the above programme on BBC 2 9.30pm Sunday evening. I only ask because I have a very close connection with Elaine, the lady who lost her dad in a Lancaster over Pina munda, Gemany in 1943. Elaine is the mother of a very close friend from the police force many years ago.  I visited her only a few days ago. She was always a lovely lady and a 2nd mum to me. She has been carrying this pain around with her for over 70 years. I am so grateful to the BBC that they were able to give her some sort of closure on her dad's death as a tail end gunner in DN202. Shot down by a German Night Fighter. These guys were made of special stuff and Elaine knew it at such a young age. God rest his soul and all the other brave flyers of that era.
