The EU debate (closed)

Given that this issue isn't strictly political (in the sense that the two factions are not representing any common political party) then we should be able to debate this very important issue sensibly on this forum.

For myself, the Out campaign just needs to quote the undisputable facts.....

Membership does cost us hundreds of millions of pounds each week.

This cost will certainly increase over time.

There is no way of controlling immigration of EU citizens while we remain a member.

The number of EU members will only increase over time, with Turkey, Albania etc already queuing up.

More countries joining will logically increase immigration into the UK.

On the other hand, the 'In' campaign can only provide dubious statements intended to scare voters......based on no more than guesswork......because they simply don't know.

Fair comment?

To be unable to debate such an important issue, whilst allowing debates about awnings and toilet cassettes would be simply ludicrous.

Quite agree it's very important and we should be able to discuss it. I think there are more reasons for out than in but I'm sure others will come up with reasons to stay.

Mike.

I dont think this thread will last long as, on here it will be considered political.  the previous forum manager RO put a ban on any political discussion.  But not to worry, there are other caravanning forums which allow political discussions. So best to "Leave" this discussion and go  "Out"  to another forum.

Ian

This discussion is being closed and referred to the Community Manager for review under the Community Guidelines covering political discussion.

Kennine - Your comment about Rowena is inaccurate - she has told you before that these are the Caravan Club's rules, not hers.

Just to refresh your memory, here's what she said directly to you in a previous discussion:

"Just to clarify, these are Caravan Club rules set by The Caravan Club rather than myself the Community Manager (although I do fully support this decision) because if we had these types of debates we would need more resource. When launching Club Together the resource was outlined for caravanning and motorhome chat. We are The Caravan Club and that's what the forum is for. The alternative would be not to have a forum at all."

Cheers

Bugs
