If anyone wishes to be brave and get up early (just before dawn) anytime between now and mid-February, and look south (just above the horizon), you will see five planets, with the naked eye.  Mercury, Venus, Mars, Saturn and JupiterHappy

Personally, I didn't think you would see Mercury unless you have a powerful telescopic and you see it as it passes in front of the sun.Undecided

I was awake just before dawn and couldn't see anything to the south although it might have been cloud - there was clear sky higher up and a very bright something fairly high in the west?

Scan the sky southeast to southwest. Venus will be the most visible. Our weather forecast is pretty awful tomorrow so we wont be seeing anything until things improve.
