mentioned to a friend today about a trip to the Isle of white , his reply " I thought you said you haven't renewed your passport yet "? I haven't ! Well you need it now for the Isle of white

it lots of talk about it but nothing confirms yeah or neigh , so has anyone been recently , do I need my passport ?
