Its all very well the CAMC negotiating a discount with the likes of Raleigh Bikes, but a bit pointless if they don’t have stock of their own products??

After days of research I decided upon a Raleigh Motus Grand Tour eBike  only to find the website showing out of stock and Raleigh being unable to give a date when they will be in stock

back to the search I decided to up my budget and get an even more expensive Raleigh eBike  I checked and it was in stock and for that matter it still is.

Just had a call from Raleigh with whom I placed the order on Bank Holiday Monday. They now inform me this bike which I paid for online and should be delivered to me today is now out of stock.

This is a recurring theme so far with the UK eBike suppliers. The one thing they seem totally unable to do is actually supply !!!!

Back to the search for an eBike I actually want.

This buying an electric bike for the "wife" so often leads quickly to a second purchase!

Be warned, or get fitter. wink

Yes after riding it at the weekend I thought wow this will be easier in 30 degree heat.  I am not super fit but not unfit either, it will just make life a tad easier when on the road I think but that is ext years present, its my old pedal version for nowlaughing

My OH has built all our ebikes. He buys top quality models of what he needs (Road, off road, crossover) then gets the components required to power them up. Hence my much loved Cube now has power. He’s currently eyeing up a Biancchi........

Depends what use you want of course. Some aren’t an easy conversion either, but it keeps him out of mischief. Thank heavens the motorbike love gene hasn’t kicked in....😁

yes, conversions (usually rear hub driven wheels) are around.

i had cycled up to top of the mountain behind Bonterra Park and met three Spanish guys who were there. they all had converted bikes...'xxx in Castellon does them'.... and they reckoned they would do 50 kph.

they hadn't heard of the on road regulations we are subject to....

OH did front wheels as it was a lot less difficult with gearing on road bikes, made a great job of it as well, power pack on one bike fits into a bottle holder, so he remains a stealth rider at times😂 Plays havoc with his Strava times though. Watching him build the front wheel spokes, getting them all aligned must be the closest thing to male knitting I have seen.

They are great though, cycling is a huge part of his life, and after a heart attack a couple of years ago (dodgy genes coupled with two bouts of cancer) he isn’t allowed to let his heart rate get above a certain level. And it’s seriously hilly round us, so it was get powered up or give up, which just wasn’t an option. Godsend for lots of other reasons as well, keep lots of folks out there enjoying themselves.😀
