hi all

not sure if this is the right place to ask this question, but can I use the TV aerial on the caravan roof to boost the radio reception in our caravan as well.

If your radio was fitted as standard in the caravan it should already be connected via the roof top aerial and booster ,if not you can use a splitter and run a supply to your radio

Hi jvb66

thanks for reply, yes it was fitted as standard, when you say roof top do you mean the TV aerial, and do I need to raise it like you would if watching TV.

thanks again

I suspect whether to raise, how far and which way to point the aerial is all dependant on radio signal strength and direction - much same as TV.

Hi and thanks Ian, I never realised that the TV aerial helped the radio reception as well as the tv. Lol

thanks Gary

That's  cos they're 2 separate things ......

There's no connection between the radio & tv aerial. The older Status have what are suggested as two pull out radio aerials but there no connection inside the cover .... or certainly the case of my 2003 Lunar Delta

My standard fit radio has its own aerial ... as did my previous Lunar.

Does your Lunar have a radio ariel on the side of the van over the front window? If it does then you need to extend it, like an old car radio ariel.

Some Status amplifiers have the ability to be used for DAB or FM, but not on my 2015 Lunar Delta.

You can check by checking if the amplifier has a spare output labelled DAB/FM.

same as my 2016 delta RI. has own aerial above offside side window. IMO they are rubbish at picking up anything. the radio is suppose to be Bluetooth but cannot find my iPhone even when placed next to it.

Our clubman like most caravans has an aerial on the side, and to be honest the reception could be better, is there no way I can improve the reception etc

sure ive seen aerials on some caravans with an aerial sticking up miles lol ?
