anyone coming to, or even leaving Norfolk will no doubt be aware of the new bit of dual carriageway between Barton Mills and Thetford on the A11. As an aside the verges look wonderful with thousands of poppies in bloom.  I guess this was the result of deliberate planting.  Anyway, back to the point, the new road takes you away from the village of Elveden.  I have driven through this notorious bottleneck 100's of times and never stopped to take a look.  Whilst at the Lodge CL I did stop and have a gander.  The church which is right beside the old road is an artiitectural gem.  The main tower as 4 aposles on each corner, there is a second tower with a cloister running between them.  The farm shop is a delight albeit a bit expensive.  All these years and never gave it a second glance.  No traffic an a joy to wander through
