Phew, what a scorcher!

Well, we're just back from a fortnight in Croatia and Montenegro where they've been having the hottest summer for 60 years! Temperatures well up in the 80's, but not the sort of humid heat which gets unpleasant. Both lovely countries and largely still unspoilt by mass tourism. Fascinating, though somewhat ghoulish, to come across several hotels and large houses still in ruins from the civil war in the 90's in Croatia. Apparently the governement is selling franchises this year for companies to come in and re-develop them so I think they will soon become tourist hotspots! Spotted a couple of camping places around Dubrovnik which one or two might know about. Looked in on CT a few times and even posted a couple of times (while Mrs M was well out of sight in the pool! ). Now catching up on all the jobs around the house - obviously including looking in here! - before picking Harry up from friends later this morning (he'll probably be most unwilling to come home with us, having been spoilt rotten for the past two weeks)  and then starting to plan a few late season trips away in the van.
