We have just arrived back froom Cornwall this week having been out for three weeks.  Unfortunately, we seem to have acquired a parking charge notice for a car park in one of the more popular holiday destinations. In short, the car park management company have cameras monitoring your entry and exit from the car park (unfortunately this is not made very clear as you enter the car park).  When you park, you enter your car reg number into the ticket machine. If you leave after the ticket expiry time, they will send you a specualative invoice.  Please be aware that this is not a parking penalty!

You may also be interested to know, that should you enter the car park in a busy period and don't manage to get a space then leave,  a charge notice may be issued.

There are far fairer methods of collecting payment for parking from motoristss that would avoid all the hassle. Currently many people are challenging the charges and going to court.  Why not just have pay on exit machines?  Unclog the courts so they can deal with real criminals.
