Now TV - excellent!

We bought a NOW TV box the other day. These are the things that convert your TV into a 'smart' TV that you can connect to the internet (yes, i know newer TV's do this anyway, but ours don't). We got it for the TV in the bedroom.

It's a little box about 3 inches square that you connect to your TV via a HDMI cable (supplied with the box) and plug into the mains.

You set up an account on-line and then use the same password etc to set up the NOW TV box.......and away you go! A 10 minute job.

It connects to your house wifi (it can even work from my mobile phone personal hotspot) and you can get all the catch-up TV you want - BBC iplayer, ITV, Channel 5 etc.

I believe they are subsidised by Sky, so it can also get Sky Movies, Entertainment and Sport for a subscription. But Movies, for example, is only £9.99/month (you can cancel after one month) - far better than paying out a fortune for a Sky subscription when you aren't even home for half the year. Our TalkTalk YouView box costs £15/month for Movies (not that I've ever paid for them) and you have to wait for the day / time when they are being shown. With NOW TV you can watch them instantly.

And the best thing is, it came with 2 months free subscrition to Sky Movies......and when you set up the account, they give you another month free!

All this for the princely sum of £14.99!!

Other versions are available (eg Amazon Fire - which uses Netflix I believe) but all are more expensive.

Highly recommended!!
