Can a snail turn round in its shell ??

doing some gardening to day and came across loads and wondered if they could , I think I need to get away moreSurprised

We do indeed, just as well this is in the "chat" section.  At least you now know about snails and their shells.

If my granny can turn in her grave, or so my mum alleged, then surely a snail can rotate (turn) in its shell? I.e. not laterally - head to tail - but across its diameter

Hmmm, If you poke a pin into a " Winkle" (snail like creature) does it retreat into it's shell also,or do you twist and pull it out front to back,or back to front ? ? ? Tongue Out.
