In Iceland today at the till OH was asked if she had a bonus card . "No," she replied and quick as a flash the teller inserted a card into the reader thing from under the counter.

Who's card ?  no idea but..

Was this dishonesty, fraud. Or what!

Not dishonest, nor  fraud, but someone on the minimum wage using their initiative.

Who cares?

Oddly I care, Ivor!

I have no problem with the teller gaining, albeit next to nothing, from the transaction instead of me, but I don't like the slyness of his action.

Well I don't. There aren't many jobs that don't have perks.

Did you have a perk in yours?

I would not think the stores management would be very impressed. Very often if the store is giving away vouchers for schools they have a box you can put them in that goes to a local school. However, this does not sound anything like that and in my opinion is wrong.

We all have to pay for these schemes. The cost of all overheads, like stock shrinkage and credit card commission, has to come out of profit. I’d much prefer simple low prices rather than mischievous schemes of any kind.

Most shops tend to give their staff a discount on purchases don't they?

BB, I wondered if they were using their swipe card to sign in or sign off before/after using the till? Quite a few till workers have to do this procedure when starting or finishing their work session.

Well on this point i always say a job without perks aint worth a light.I certainly made my own perks in my job but anyway on the subject in question i,ve seen a similar thing at a Shell petrol station where i get my petrol. They always ask me if i have a shell points card and i say no give the points to someone else or have them yourself but they are not allowed to do that which i think is a bit sad really.
