New charges for inert waste.

During the past week I have been removing some old concrete that was cracked and crumbling and replacing it with flags and installed a plastic drain channel. This morning with help from my son in law we took two van loads of the old hardcore to the council tip, while there we were handed a leaflet outlining new charges that come into effect on June 1st. These charges apply to any householder without a permit who brings hardcore, glass, plasterboard, rubble, soil, flagstone or old bathroom furniture. The cost for a 1mtr trailer is £17.50 [that is a very small trailer] or £3.50 per bag. If you take hardcore loose in a van/car the staff will decide how many bags worth you have and will charge accordingly. I can imagine some very irate householders arguing over the estimated bag count.                                         Unfortunately I can see this leading to more fly tipping, do your councils charge for disposing of hardcore?
