Low blood pressure after hip replacement

Hi everyone. 

Currently sat in a hospital bed after having a total hip replacement done yesterday afternoon. I have been unable to do any standing or walking due to very low blood pressure which doesn’t seem to want to get back to normal and apparently the best thing for it  is just to drink plenty of fluids.

Can anybody put my mind at rest after either having a new hip done or having low blood pressure please.

I had my 49th birthday yesterday if that makes any difference

Thanks everyone for the replies,

Physio came this afternoon and I managed to walk with the frame up and down the corridor.

Hopefully trying crutches tomorrow

Physio been this morning and got me to do the crutches along the corridor and then surprisingly said try the stairs.

Occy health then came and had a word with the physio and the result is I get to go home this afternoon.

Appointment booked with nurse for Friday to take the dressing off because it has been glued and six week appointment with consultant will be in the post early next week.

All in all a very efficient service and it would have been better still if I had normal blood pressure after the operation.
