Life flashed in front of me

Travelling to Rookesbury Park today we were following a truck with glass carrying frame on the side.  Just outside Cheriton one of the uprights of the frame detached itself bounced high in the air and headed in our direction.  We were traveling at about 45mph and I hit the breaks so all 6 wheels locked, headed onto the verge and ducked.  Fortunately the support glanced off the front bumper and we run over it before coming to a halt.  Apart from a graze on the bumper don't think there is any damage although I need to get under the van and look.  The thing is time didn't stand still but 60 odd years flash by in milliseconds.
