Is it just me hates supermarkets?

In Tesco today - against my will. I hate the big chains - I use Aldi and Lidl because at least they are only interested in selling good quality for realistic prices. No frills and dreaded loyalty cards. Their fruit and veg and fresh meat are second to none. Super thing about France is the markets.

Back to Tesco - wanted to buy some loose new potatoes - no little bags to put them in and I hadn't taken a carrier of my own. I asked a lone memeber of staff who was arranging oranges where they bags were - to be told "we've run out"!!!

This is a Tesco mega srore that sells everything from pants to pastry, compost to coffee, spoons to spectacles.....but no-one had thought to pop over to the aisle that sells plastic bags and get some to put the loose fruit and veg into.

Probably because most veg comes in packaged in indesructible plastic.

Since we both retired we find ourselfs going to the smaller stores especially butchers and veg shops we can buy as little as we need there and of course we have more time

That's like us Ruby, it's nice not to have to do "big shopping" anymore except when family or visitors appear on the horizon.Smile

I don't hate them, just don't love them. I am a bit of a Tesco Clubcard tart so that's where I tend to shop (yes yes I know I could get cheaper elsewhere). I do, on occasions go to Aldi but really that is just to get the good quality steaks they do there. In all, I tend to do a mahoosive shop on line at the beginning of the month and get it all delivered from Tesco. I then top up with fresh stuff from a variety of places which are convenient. The bit I really hate is putting it all away..   Absolutely HATE Morrisons; all my nightmares at once. BTW, we always stock up on wine in Lidl when we visit France; best prices we have seen.

Write your comments here... HD, check out Tesco. Clubcard points can be used on the Eurotunnel, we saved a fortune last year using our points I am guessing that you use the big old Sainsbugs off the motorway there. what about the Tesco next Junction up/down?

Yes , Tesco off junction 10 ,but that junction and roundabout is a big no no , unless you have all day to get round it ......
