My local shop always used to double bag the milk and beer because "the bags are not very strong dear!"

Now you have to pay for the bags.....the same bags...

if the bottom falls out the bag and you....heaven. forbid....drop your beer, because you have now paid for your bag, are you protected under any consumer rights for goods that were not fit for purpose? And if so, is there any liability owed by the retailer for damages (loss of beer)?

...any legal eagles in the forum?
