How can people be so stupid?

Photo from today's paper. Totally unbelievable. According to the text, some of the figures are young children, posing on the rock fall under the cliff, whilst the adults took photos.

I’m sure that during my lifetime I’ve done some really stupid things and thought afterwards I shouldn’t have done that.  That after all is the adventure of life.

I don't want to dwell on it but the rock fall incident at Hive Beach killed a 22 year old female, her two male companions were rescued from the tons of rubble by some quick thinking and brave bystanders.

So as the holiday season approaches it's a timely warning for anyone enjoying coastal walks in the uk.

I was a member of coast watch when that person died near the Hive.  A few days later I was running a watch at the Hive when a family of five, mother, father, and three young kids, started to walk along the fenced off beach under the cliff.  I warned them of the danger and was told go forth and multiply.  The only way we could stop them was to threaten to take the kids into protective custody and get social services involved.  Apparently I spend a lot of time copulating and my mother was not married to my father surprised laughing.

The parents are a different form of an Amoeba, sadly having responsibility for trying to show their children right from wrong.

How can people be so stupid? Oh, very easily!! That wouldn’t be the cliffs at West Bay on the Chesil would it? If it is, it is even more senseless as a 3 year old was killed there 3 or 4 years ago and an adult lady 2 years ago. Signs tell people not to sit near the cliffs and every time I go, there they are sitting under the cliffs.!
