30.4C in the shade, too hot to be outside and unbearable in the sun. Worse to come tomorrow?

I was growing up, and spent many summers in 30C (and often 40C) heat and in those days the was no AC so it is just normal to live like that, you just get used to it and find ways to keep you cool..

32.5c in the shade here, but coming down now. Nice breeze starting too. Went out and came back to the car 34c 😱😱 steering wheel to hot to hold!

Our garden is desparate for rain too. I agree with Husky that this is the UK but we're in a very dry area so not holding my breath! I have no doubt we'll get the grey coudly skies but none of the moisture. We had some Friday and Saturday, very heavy gentle rain, filled the waterbutts from about half. Looking at the garden you wouldn't believe it was only 4 days ago.

Yes but here we just get acclimatised and then we need winter woollies! I recall hot summer days and wouldn't have a clue on the temperature but probably not as high as now. I could be wrong 😂😂.

Were you somewhere other than the UK?

Churches and cathedrals are always great on days like this 😉

Hope it doesn't get up to 39C tomorrow (for some!) We haven't had any significant rain for at least a month and no low temperatures either but we have got a breeze today. Last night just electrical storms in the distance, it's been a while since we had such warm nights, not much sleep. It's reminded me why I like temperate areas! smile

Just checked out Writtle temperatures, official station proper equipment, 34c that's about 2 miles away as the crow flies.

We have some thin high cloud and a little while ago a mackerel back sort of cloud.

Thankfully not humid here at present.
