I read that over 6000 animals, mostly sheep, were killed by wolves in France in 2012. The number is increasing as the species is protected. 

Better avoid storing food in your awning and keep a wary eye on your dog if you're going to France.

Oh and don't blame your next door neighbour's pooch for dumping on your pitch either, it may belong to the local wolf pack who dont' know where the dog walking area is.

I also hear that French environmentalists want to reintroduce bears into the countryside as well........
