The media milk most things, the trick is not to believe them!smile

Our little weather station is telling us 31.7c, car says 31c, phone app says currently 31c. We have cloud at moment and it is getting hotter! Original forecast for last few days now has been thunderstorms, but someone, somewhere else is getting our share. Way too hot to be outdoors midday, best to be sensible.

Earlier this afternoon our weather station here in sunny Somerset recorded a high of 34c. This is in a rural area, I dread to think what it must be like in our towns and cities today. Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer...

I saw a piece on a local news channel taking about it being a bad year(so far) for farmers-Winter-beast from the east, Farmers ask for aid to save livestock. Spring-fields flooded, Farmers ask for aid due to crop loss. Summer-no rain, crops failing, Farmers ask for aid due to crop loss. Well it ain’t news, I remember most years the Farmers ask for aid. In ‘Farmer World’ there’s no such thing as a good year😂😂

Wonderfully insensitive.  You should be thoroughly ashamed of thinking that and even worse posting it.

What!!!  This is nothing compared to summer '76'. I was working hard as an engineer then and the heat and the length of time it continued was almost impossible to endure, but we all got through it, the gardens got back to normal, we did not die of thirst and the reservoirs  soon re filled. I am enjoying this period (partly due to no more work) and before we know where we are the school holidays will be over, autumn will be here and we will be wanting this lovely weather back.   Long may it continue!!!!

That’s a typical news story you’ve repeated, Rocky. Rather, it’s non-news as it’s no change from any other year, as you said.

The weather is a lifesaver to the media at the moment as there’s so little else to report.
