Saw an ad for a car yesterday that was claimed to do 140+ mpg.

 

Wow!  Quick, I want to buy one!  Then I realised that the vehicle had an electric motor and substantial battery that gave rise to those figures.

 

Should we not be measuring vehicles in £p per mile?  That would give a more realistic comparative measurement.  O.K. so we would need the pence per Litre figure in order to put all claims on a level footing, along with pence per KWH for the leccy.

Should this be taken on board by the Dept. of transport?   What do you think?

Non of the Hybrid manufacturers make the running costs at all clear.
