Couldn't agree more, I used to love Christmas when the kids were little but nowadays I can't be bothered by it all, its just a big retail hype. This year it was my turn for the meal, a day preparing it half a day cooking it 1 hour and its over.  Next year we are going away

Write your comments here...totally agree but I think other countries have maintained the real connection and spirit of Christmas. Many parts of Europe celebrate Twelfth Night as the day of giving presents, not Christmas Day. Twelfth Night coincides with the arrival of the Three Kings and their giving of gifts to the Christ Child. In this country the whole thing seems to be far too commercialised and the suggestion is that the change from Twelfth Night as above came about for commercial reasons!
