Wouldn't mind so much, but exactly how many people each spinach? We can grow lettuces in the winter over here, and we have the most temperate climate in the world, never too cold and never too hot. We can grow most veg over here, but we were stopped farming by the EU, hence Maggie Thatcher fighting for us to get a "rebate". There's land a plenty for growing in this country, but that would probably depend on where the Councils are going to grow the extra houses that's needed

This is a 'non-story'.
It was on Jeremy Vine today and it was quite embarrassing.
First he interviewed a fruit & veg wholesaler, who said that there wasn't any shortage.
Then he interviewed a fruit &veg shop owner, who said that there wasn't any shortage.
He had a 'roving reporter' reporting from a supermarket......who said that the supermarket was piled high with every sort of veg.
It seems that some of the supermarkets are not prepared to pay a temporarily higher price (due to bad weather in a few parts of Europe) and therefore some are temporarily short on stock of a limited few veg types.
Nothing to see here folks......move along.......
