ADD, just to say thanks for the recommendations, although we didn't see the Kingfishers unfortunately.

Hope that this moves the posts along๐Ÿ˜

We're glad you enjoyed it. We can't believe the kingfishers were so elusive. We saw them everyday in December but they were difficult to spot. One landed on a post sticking out of the water, right outside pitch 3 and we couldn't grab the camera quickly enough to get a picture. We also saw one catch a fish and sit on the back of the bench to hit its head against before eating it. When we first started going to Willow Cottage there were only two ducks - Chas & Dave (the two white ones) but they nest in Karen's back garden in the flower boarders and have produced a few more over the years. Karen also opens her garden to The National Garden Scheme. They have an owl box in the garden which is used by tawny owls each year. The young are ringed by the RSPB but last year they think a stoat raided the nest.
