Fairy lights, steps and ladders

Hello all I’m back.

Firstly thanks to the wardens at the Wroxham site for all their hard work, a really good site!

So what did I miss?

Just a few thoughts from my time away:

Fairy lights, I know there was talk of them on CT but I didn’t realise how prevalent they are now. On a trip back from the shower block I counted 6 outfits with them on, and a number of outfits with ground lights on spikes (including our neighbours across the road with their multi-coloured ones which I told him were great).  I think they look really good but no doubt someone on here will say they make sites look like car parks at Christmas.

Had two minor problems, one that I thought I would never have, our caravan step failed! One leg would bend outwards if you stood on it, It was the plastic one that came with the van and is only just over a year old. The step from the previous step lasted 11 years (no jokes about my increasing weight please), still it now functions as an occasional table for drinks. The other problem was finding that after putting our full awning through the rail and putting the poles in place – where are the elastic ladders!!!  Left in the porch awning bag!!!  After a few words with OH along the lines of ‘oh dearie me, what a silly thing to do’ (or words to that effect) a 50 minutes trip to the local caravan shop sorted things out, and a new posh metal double step as well.

Apart from that, a really good holiday, weather was fantastic for over two weeks till Bertha came along, but all we got was one day of heavy rain.
