I did say it was a similar thread and it gives some info.

Have you checked Parts & Accessories or tried searching the site?

there is a Pedelec froum review here. my pal and his wife have a couple, they like them....i did try it and found it a bit limp in the low power mode and a bit better in the hight power mode...

advantages....light weight, easy ride, carbon belt... give one a try.... but at that price you should also have a look at those with Bosch, Yamaha or Kalkhoff drive systems....

good luck..

just to add, Gtech sell their own factory refurbished bikes here on ebay from £595...this might be a much cheaper way in to ebikes, along as you get a new battery with it....

then after (say) a few hundred miles, you'll know if this is the type of bike you need....

I'm looking to spend a fair bit less and the Coyote Connect sold by, among others, Halfords looks reasonable for the price. Does anyone have any experience of one of these?

CY, see here.....main weakness is the 24v motor, small battery and, therefore, poor range...id guess around 20miles, possibly less if serious hills involved...

id recommend that anyone interested in ebikes bookmark www.pedelecs.co.uk as it gives much of the info folk seem to be looking for...

good luck...

Hi,

My wife purchased a GTEC electric bike 18 months ago after trying it out at the Showroom.  Up until then she had only tried out a normal bike but could not get use to it, she did not like changing gear etc.  She very much likes the new bike as it takes the strain out of cycling especially up hills and now leaves me behind puffing.

we have had no problems with the bike and it has been used both in this country and on the continent.  Easy to lift onto the cycle carrier and to charge the battery.  No gears to worry about and a clean drive chain.

hope this helps

Dave

Hi Guys thank you for all your input but after many test rides we have just purchased 2 EMU e bikes, absolutely brill 50 mile range, 2 year warranty, 7 gears but not drailer so can change gear whilst standing still at the lights if caught in wrong gear. If anyone is thinking about e bike should try out these. much appreciated for the help. Pete
