A friend in Dorset with very close connections to the agricultural industry in Dorset has told me that shooting then dumping badgers on the side of the road is common practice in their area because of the reputed devastation of badger carried TB. I often wonder to what degree deer also carry TB and they range over the same land that badgers do.

I am commenting on a stretch of the A500 from M6 J16 to the outskirts of Nantwich Cheshire, about 8 miles. The road passes through farmland all the way and its an unusual day when there is not at least one dead badger .This is the main road from M6 towards Wales and Holyhead and although I dont know what the size of the Badger population is I can see that any one who tries to cross that road "badger speed" is unlikely to make it. Hence my conviction that they are being run over.
Ah, I see. So its not in your Village it's over an 8 mile stretch of road. The road no doubt built over a historic Badger trail. Thanks
