with all the choice of products to buy ,does the amount of Money that manufacturers spend on advertising that product persuade you to buy it?

how do you decide on a product to buy, is it cost ,quality ,because your parents always bought it or loyalty to a brand

Even so, though the ads are memorable, I still don't buy the product. Advertising takes the place of word of mouth and if a company has to advertise the product, it cannot be that good otherwise word of mouth would have wrought the required level of sales.

Agree Redface. Some adverts are very clever and well made......still don't sell the product though.

As I said earler, advertising companies are more about selling advertising than selling products.

Mostly try to ignore adverts but occasionally you get one with a touch of class. Famous Grouse adverts?

As a shop owner i find it interesting how people react to adverts and how a different product can get your atention of turn you off

Do you get the same incentives as the likes of Tesco  to put products in a prominent position Wink

Some old adverts like "go to work on an egg" and "drop that iron" always stick in my mind. They were fun.  But no, they don't influence me although they sometimes alert me to new products.

I think the main turn off could well the the discordant racket that accompanies the visuals. Who really wants to listen to the 1980's-2000 screech of pop. An unasked for assault on the eardrums with usually unintelligible verbals.
