Doctor's Note

I was going to post this in the discussion on the NHS which has been closed - shame really it was interesting.  Plenty of different ideas about budgeting!  Anyway - I have recently had a virus and felt too ill to go away to Sardinia this week - so started an insurance claim.  I knew I would have to pay the doctor something but was a bit surprised it was as much as £50 for about 10 minutes work.  Almost not worth claiming as I only booked a flight.  What has anyone else had to pay to get a doctors "note"?  Then again as they are strapped for cash - I suppose it makes sense.

I hope it will do the job as there was an inaccuracy in it stating I had been on Levothyroxine for Hypothyroidism - which I never was - preferring to go an alternative route to NHS dictates.
