Directory Enquiries

Do you remember the days when, if you needed to find a phone number, you rang directory enquiries and a helpful operator would get you the number. The process cost you nothing. All part of the service.

Now though, this service has been 'opened up to competition' to 'improve efficiency'.

If you ring 118118 now from a TalkTalk landline it costs you £5.68. I kid you not. (Ringing from a a BT, Sky or Virgin line costs you £4.45).

If you ring them from a mobile phone and they manage to keep you on the lne for 10 minutes, it can cost you anything up to £50!!

Progress eh?
