Just remembered a lesson we had back in my childhood about old Lincolnshire words and dialect. The one thing I remember was the strange counting system the Lincolnshire shepherds had. Here it is Yan One Tan Two Tethera Three Fethera Four Pethera Five Lethera Six Sethera Seven Hovera Eight Coverer Nine Dik Ten Yanadik Eleven Tanadik Twelve Tetheradik Thirteen Fetheradik Fourteen Bumfits Fifteen Not sure I'd want to have anything to do with be the 15th Lincolnshire Long Wool though! Strange folk my county fellows! What odd words do you have in your native lingo?
