Dartford Crossing - update

As we're going to be crossing the QE2 bridge a few times this year, I opened an account. Paid my £10 using a credit card and got email confirmation.

You get to chose whether you want to automatically top up your account (they take a further payment from your credit card when your account gets depleted) or you can top up manually. I chose manually.

Yesterday, I got an email (in fact, I got two duplicate emails) saying that my credit card would be out of date shortly (which is correct, I'm waiting for the new one to come) and that, as I'd chosen automatic top up, I needed to be aware that they wouldn't be able to take payment.

I checked my account and there it was - manual top up selected. Also, the £10 credit is still sat there, so no need for a top up.

I rang them and they confirmed this was the case. "We're getting a lot of calls about those emails" he said. Maybe you should have a word with your IT people, I suggested.

Anyway, first crossing on Monday, so hope it works!
