It's good to hear that members of CT are receiving their vaccinations, good luck to all those yet to have theirs. It seems like a long haul till we get everyone sorted and hear the results of the present vaccines.

I'm leaving this open for non political comments as per the guidelines. Hope you can add your own experiences and thoughts.

My first jab comes up tomorrow, I'm so glad we have research institutions that have got us this far! And I am planning breaks away in the hope of improvements on the horizon.

I wonder what the people that are moaning think that changing a bit of paperwork will achieve.  The dead are dead, I doubt they will return (but I have been known to be wrong undecided).

I can tell you that it can matter an awful lot to people who lose someone.

The sheer number of deaths that we are dealing with may numb a little but lets not forget that, as is being discussed here, people die for lots of reasons and it may be important, for reasons other than the Covid statistics, what cause is recorded.

Has anyone else received a letter recently notifying them they've now been placed in the at risk/shielding category as a result of a review? OH got one but it all seems a bit futile now after 12 months of being very careful.

I think the idea is that those younger ones who get a letter suggesting they are now classified in an at risk category are bumped up the vaccine queue.

Our grand daughter aged 20 has received a letter last week,to go for a covid vacine, all she can think it is because when she was about 7yrs she had a few "absences?" and was put on a course of medication

I guess they have to consider that we're not through this yet and things could go either way but, for us, it'll not make any difference to our current ways.

Agreed TW ~~ We are a long long way short of the day when we can consider ourselves to be through this problem, sadly.  I take the Ducky for the occasional drive to keep the greased bits from  solidifying but keep the maps, handbooks etc out of sight frown why cause myself to fret or do silly things.

IMHO we need to wait untill the schools have been open for about 3 weeks, it has been reported on the news today that parents in some areas are rejecting that their children need to be testedyell

It was proved in Essex last year that it was children that were the "spreaders" from schools

Schools have done a massive amount of preparation for testing and it will form part of the routine when the students return. I've just been looking at the procedures involved, it will take time to run these tests so the school timetables will be altered to include them. It will probably be better when the tests can be done at home rather than at school.
