It's good to hear that members of CT are receiving their vaccinations, good luck to all those yet to have theirs. It seems like a long haul till we get everyone sorted and hear the results of the present vaccines.

I'm leaving this open for non political comments as per the guidelines. Hope you can add your own experiences and thoughts.

My first jab comes up tomorrow, I'm so glad we have research institutions that have got us this far! And I am planning breaks away in the hope of improvements on the horizon.

It appears that coronavirus is a remarkably agile infection and mutations could be with us for the foreseeable future. Back in the days when infectious disease were rife each town had an isolation hospital, then it was the only solution available for protection of the greater population. Probably prohibitively costly now but it does seem that worldwide little provision had been set aside for the inevitable?

From what I read I agree on both statements. But I don't necessarily link the two directly

There seems to be clamour for reopening the country. Is it wise to be in such a hurry. This virus has shown itself to be very efficient at exploiting every weakness. We should leave it to Government and their advisors to take things forward. Patience seem to be the answer..

If you take every media comment at face value then maybe there is a clamour but if you leave aside those motivated, understandably,  by seeing their businesses going down the tubes then I dont see it.

As for leaving it to the government and their advisors,I take it this means you are in favour of 'Eat Out To Help Out 2' which has just been mentioned on Radio 2 as a way of getting things moving in April?

I see Amanda Holden  being "hung out to dry" for making an emergency visit to her parents.  Snitched on by neighboursfrown The Stasi would have loved some folk hereyell

I no more disapprove her action than Cummings. I greatly disapprove of much of the press for shallow reportage - including BBC

(I know the name Amanda Holden but that, and the fact that she is involved in that popular dance programme is the limit of my knowledge of her and the recent press reports)

If this universal vaccine is successful, it could well be a game changer.

Let's hope that it bears fruit

If every day is a learning day then Friday was the day that she learned that its best not to do what she did when the neighbour is a, reportedly, a police officer!

As long as she also is able to confirm that we support the vulnerable within our family and hopefully beyond.
