Costa Rica

Well, here we are in Costa Rica - in fact we've been here 4 days already but only just managed to get wifi ( for reasons that will become clear ) so just checking in and letting anyone interested know how things are going.

Day 1 was a bit of a write off to be honest - an 11 1/2 hours flight plus 2 1/2 hours getting through a chaotic  San Jose airport and traffic system meant that we reached our first hotel at about 1pm home time only to be told that we needed to be up at 5:30 the following morning for our first transfer. (The tour manager reckoned the good news was that they served breakfast from 4:30.) So all we really wanted to do was fall into bed to try for at least a couple of hours sleep.

I think that's a black necked stilt, isn't it? Enjoy your last few days on the Pacific coast, micky. Where are you staying over there?

This is the hotel, here !

I'd go with that stilt, m, but so many birds will have to wait to be correctly identified when I get home. Too busy just looking and marvelling at them right now.wink

Well here we are, this will be our final sleep in C.R. What a holiday it's been, what an experience, we've absolutely loved it. Would we come back, probably no, although I would relish doing so and would recommend it to anyone. Health and all that willing, there is still a whole lot more of the World to see. We've only really scratched the surface that is C.R. but the next venue, the next ambition is Sri Lanka.
In nineteen hours we start our flight home to Manchester via Paris. With a seven hour wait in San Jose airport I will pass some time posting some more photos later. Now for me it is off to sleep as it's very early in the morning here.

It sounds like we're in for a shock on touch down in England with the weather mind.

Enjoy your remaining time over there, micky, and safe journey home. You wouldn't believe it but Sri Lanka is exactly what we've been thinking of next - how spooky is that? wink
