Cost of postage to Scotland

Most companies charge a fixed rate for postage to UK mainland and I am sick of those who charge extra as soon as you cross the border into Scotland.

Last week I ordered a set of windscreen covers for my motorhome from Taylormade.   I ordered these online and noted that the postage quoted on the checkout screen was the standard UK rate of £10.     

Today I received a phone call from them to say the the computer had got it wrong and postage would be 'a lot more'. She asked if I knew a gentleman in Aberdeen city who had also ordered a set of screens and perhaps we could share the excess postage. No, I didn't know him and I live 40 miles from Aberdeen.

I told her to cancel the order and I would buy elsewhere. Well, Taylormade have lost my order and probably another one from a gentleman in Aberdeen. I'll phone 'Silver screens' tomorrow.
