Churchill

Did anyone see the programme on TV the other day about Churchill? Basically, it said that he wasn't very well liked (and hence was voted out of government as soon as WW2 ended), was pretty hopeless as a war tactician (but couldn't be told if he was wrong) and was completely out of touch with 'ordinary people'.

Not from a political point of view, what are your thoughts on him?
