Being reported on local TV news that Avon & Somerset Police have not informed motorists that cameras are being used to catch speeding motorists on the M4/M5 interchange area around Bristol. At this location there is a a variable speed system in place i.e. 50/60mph depending on the time of day, volume of traffic, etc., Some 5500 drivers have been caught exceeding the 70 limit and are not happy as they are being monitored by the cameras that also monitor the lower speed limits. Sorry!! but I thought the speed limit on motorways was 70mph so what are they moaning about? If they stuck to the limit they would not be suffering penalty tickets. It doesn't make any difference if they are caught on camera, by an unmarked Police vehicle, or traffic car, they are breaking the law so should suffer the consequences.
