Be aware!, be very aware.....

Apparently, the Met office has issued a 'Yellow' weather warning, urging the UK's feckless populace to 'be aware of freezing conditions'!

It's a jolly good job that the Met office has people who, for only £70,000 a year are prepared to take the trouble to warn their fellow citizens of the cold weather -  citizens who, otherwise, would all be out sunbathing and generally carrying on as if it was high summer, and getting themselves nasty coughs and colds as result of their rashness.

Yes,  sarcasm applied with a trowel - but, honestly!, what is it with the current official mania for issuing colour coded warnings whenever the rain falls or the wind blows?!"

It's cold! - anyone able to step outside their front door knows that it's cold  (and given the nature of winter, it's highly  likely to get colder!) *why* must their be solemn official pronouncements on the subject?

Personally, I put it all down to the  official master plan to infantilise the UK! - "Be aware that it's cold", belongs in the same category of advice as, "This bleach is not for human consumption", and "Do not use this microwave oven as a hammer"

I suppose the reason why Orwell's 'telescreens' in '1984' had no user controls wqas that those being indoctrinated were considered to be to stupid to turn the things on!
