Awards

I have just attended the Year 7 Award Ceremony at my grandson's Academy.  Every single child got an award for something. On one hand, it's good to encourage students, but would it be more character building (and prepare them for the real world) if only the exceptionally outstanding were rewarded? I look forward to some teacher's views, and I plead with you all not to turn this contentious, so that it gets closed.
