Hello all

I have to renew my passport, I have found out that you can do this online rather than the post office route? I just wondered if anyone has done it this way?

thanks

Yes I've been doing this for years. Recently renewed my husbands, you fill in the form online and pay the £72.50,  print off the form and you have 6 weeks to send it in to the Passport Office. My husbands was back in a little over 2 weeks.

Yes I have done that in the past and it seems a quite and easy procedure. From memory you have to sign up for the Government Gateway to access the website. They send you a password which is time limited. I think it also ties in with renewing your driving licence online as they can use your passport photo.

No David you don't need to sign up to the Government Gateway to access the website to get a passport but yes the DVLA can access your passport photo when renewing your driving licence - that's if you let them!.

Done it for years.  Only takes moments.  Just fill in the few questions, and OK at the end.  They usually send back the form for you to sign (make sure its your signature and not just anyone)Happy

We filled in the application on line on the 13th April, paid the money and posted the declaration (which you print off from the application) and two new photos. Had a text message today, 19th April saying the new passports would be with us 'in a few days'. Good service to use.

The  only  problem,  Corners,  is  that  the  Piccy  on  your  latest  Passport  is  the  one  used  for  your  driving  licence.  I  just  hate  being  reminded  what  a dark haired  handsome  beast  I  used  to  be  !!  I'm  never  certain  if  I  am  really  that  old  &  grey  or  if  the  bathroom  mirror  has  steamed  up  Embarassed
