We are only just into the winter months and I'm already fed up of being dazzled by fog light offernders - do they think they look cool or are they just ignorant to the law and the discomfort of other motorists?

Could be me but the numbers seem greater this year, dont they know when exactly fog lights should and shouldn't be used?

Obviously using them in foggy conditions will increase safety but they should not be turned on until visibility is reduced to around 100 metres or less and MUST be turned off once the fog clears.

Keeping fog lights on when the fog clears or when someone is directly behind you dazzles and masks your break lights and is a clear hazard to other motorists. Drivers approaching or following behind will be dazzled by the very bright front or rear fog light(s), particularly at night and particularly in the rain.

It is illegal to drive with fog lights on when it is not foggy and it is illeagal to dazzle other drivers (non-endorsable Fixed Penalty Notice )

Grrrr - rant over, thanks!Laughing
