Allotments

Nine years ago I was lucky enough to get my first allotment. It was a terrible mess but within a year all the weeds were cleared and it was planted. 4 years ago I moved to different allotments nearer home. Same scenario covered in weeds etc.Within two years I had it just as I wanted. Recently a few allotments have come up on our site for lease, despite people waiting quite a while on a list for these, when they have been offered they have been turned down 'because they are too weedy'  Often as people are giving up allotments they do get a bit run down and if they are rejected by three or four people then they get even worse. My point is - do people really expect it all to be pristine and done for them.
