A bit of nostalgia

This week is our granddaughters ninth birthday and on Saturday afternoon she is having a party in the building that was once my old junior school. I am quite looking forward to it although it will be a bit strange as I have not been in the school or schoolyard since I was in short pants, when I was eleven. My last year at school was also the last time they used that building as they had built a new modern school over the road. I have driven past quite a few times and doesn’t everything look a lot smaller than it did when you were a child?

     Have any of you been back to a place of your childhood and was it disappointing or just as you remembered?
